The Compliance & Risk Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring CapBay adheres to regulatory requirements and maintains its commitment to legal and ethical standards. This leadership position involves overseeing the development, implementation, and management of compliance programs, conducting comprehensive compliance audits, liaising with regulators, and ensuring the company’s adherence to current laws and regulations.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of comprehensive compliance programs by tracking regulatory changes and conducting in-depth research on specific regulations/policies.
- Oversee and manage the Compliance Team in conducting detailed compliance audits/internal audits to ensure the Company’s practices and procedures comply with current laws and regulations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulators (such as the Securities Commission of Malaysia) regarding any data requests or audits conducted as part of their periodic monitoring.
- Design and implement compliance management models, documenting compliance requirements related to control flow, privacy, trust, monitoring, and licensing.
- Consult with senior management on investigation protocols and procedures, including resolution plans and corrective measures.
- Maintain and oversee a depository of regulatory records, including all Company compliance policies and procedures and internal audit reports.
- Lead the identification, communication, measurement, and management of company-wide risk.
- Partners with key stakeholders to develop and implement standards, processes, programs, and best practices related to risk management.
- Identifies potential risk exposures, recommends solutions, implements approved programs, promotes loss prevention, and updates and monitors compliance.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance & Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Compliance Management, with significant leadership experience.
- Strong expertise in risk assessment practices and procedures.
- Extensive experience working in Financial Institutions' compliance departments is highly preferred.
- Proven track record in conducting compliance audits.
- Exceptional command of English (both spoken and written).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal/communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail and meticulousness.
- Strong time management, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- High level of professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion.
- Independent, resourceful, and possess high common sense.
- Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
