RHB Banking Group has introduced new security measures to enhance the safety of its online and mobile banking platforms.
Starting 21 September 2024, customers will be required to activate their accounts via a one-time Secure Plus activation at an RHB ATM when using a new mobile device for transactions.
In addition, a 12-hour cooling-off period will be introduced for high-risk fund transfers and transfer limit increases, allowing customers more time to review and potentially stop any suspicious activity.
These measures aim to address the growing concerns over online financial fraud and provide customers with stronger safeguards.
The Secure Plus activation requires customers to register their new mobile device at an RHB ATM using their debit/credit card and PIN within 30 days.
The cooling-off period applies to various high-risk transactions like third-party fund transfers and transfer limit increases.
This applies to DuitNow transfers to third-party and personal accounts, Interbank GIRO, DuitNow QR, and FPX or retail payments.
During this time, customers may receive a call from RHB to verify the transaction.
RHB is also actively educating the public on fraud prevention through campaigns and its Fraud Awareness site.
“At RHB, fraud prevention is a top priority, and we are continuously advancing our digital banking security to not only protect customers but also to set new industry standards.
As a leader in community banking, we are committed to staying ahead of evolving threats, and these new measures reinforce our dedication to safeguarding our customers’ financial data while ensuring a seamless and secure digital banking experience.”
