The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Bursa Malaysia are encouraging listed companies to publish clearer value creation plans under the MY Value Up programme.
The MY Value Up Programme Guidebook was launched at the Invest Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Conference 2026 by Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The programme was introduced by SC and Bursa Malaysia in April as part of the Capital Market Masterplan 2026-2030.
It encourages public listed companies to set out their growth strategies, targets and capital allocation priorities more clearly, while strengthening board-level focus on value creation and investor engagement.
The guidebook gives companies a common reference for preparing their MY Value Up plans, including examples of key components and suggested metrics for enhanced forward-looking disclosures.
Participation is voluntary, but companies are strongly encouraged to develop and publish their plans.
Phased Rollout for MY Value Up
The programme will be rolled out in phases. In 2026, the focus will be on familiarisation and alignment, with companies encouraged to assess their focus areas and reflect them in their strategies and disclosures.
SC and Bursa Malaysia will also engage targeted companies on the submission of their MY Value Up plans.
In 2027, targeted companies are expected to begin publishing their plans, creating a public baseline for investor engagement and feedback.
Since the programme was launched, SC and Bursa Malaysia have engaged senior management from most of the largest 88 public listed companies on Bursa Malaysia.
These companies represent about 80 percent of the exchange’s total market capitalisation, with each having a minimum market capitalisation of about RM4 billion.
Workshops have also been held to gather stakeholder feedback. SC and Bursa Malaysia will continue engaging companies through regular dialogues and discussions on how to support their strategic objectives.
The MY Value Up Programme Guidebook is available on Bursa Malaysia’s website.
