The Philippines government is working with Malaysia’s Zetrix AI to build public blockchain infrastructure for digital credentials and other national applications.
The project follows a memorandum of understanding between the Philippines’ Department of Information and Communications Technology, Zetrix Philippines and My Blockchain Infrastructure.
My Blockchain Infrastructure is a joint venture between Zetrix AI and Malaysia’s national research and development agency, MIMOS.
The parties will use the Zetrix protocol to implement and operate the Philippines’ public blockchain infrastructure.
The platform will support government-issued digital credentials and other national applications, with early work also covering trade facilitation.
Zetrix already serves as the foundational chain for the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure, which was launched in April 2025.
Initial work in the Philippines will focus on issuing, verifying and authenticating government credentials, trade facilitation and cross-border interoperability between Malaysian and Philippine digital IDs.
Henry R. Aguda, Secretary of DICT Philippines, said,

More importantly, it helps remove unnecessary friction so citizens can access services faster and with greater confidence wherever they are.”

Zetrix has been used for digital ID verification, customs clearance processing, global voting applications and stablecoins since its launch in April 2022.
It has operated in the Philippines for close to a decade through digital government services.
Zetrix AI’s partners in the country include the Bureau of Internal Revenue, National Bureau of Investigation, Securities and Exchange Commission, Philippine Ports Authority and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
