Setel, Petronas’ e-payment solution that enables fuel purchases directly from mobile devices, announced that it will be fully integrated into the Boost app.
Driving interoperability between the two platforms, this partnership expands Boost’s offerings under its ‘Transport and Transit’ portfolio.
New users can register for a Setel account from within Boost by going to the ‘Transport’ tile, tapping on Setel and entering their phone number. Once registered, users can simply enter the pump number and amount to be filled.
This means that users can directly access Setel through Boost, and make fuel purchases from their mobile devices without leaving their vehicles. Users will also be able to earn Mesra points for each transaction made at Petronas stations giving them double rewards when paying with Boost.
Mohd Khairil Abdullah, CEO of Boost said,
“We are excited to form this collaboration with Setel. Boost is always looking to disrupt the status quo and digitise traditional day-to-day routines. This new relationship is a stepping stone to drive more interoperability between both partners in building a robust cashless ecosystem for a digital forward society.”
“We have built an ecosystem centered around Petronas retail stations while leveraging on our strong network of partners to deliver a seamless and frictionless experience to our customers. This collaboration unlocks the pay, pump and go experience at 1,000 Setel-enabled Petronas stations nationwide while earning double loyalty rewards from both Setel and Boost,”
said Iskandar Ezzahuddin, CEO of Setel.
Until the end of the year, Boost and Setel will give a 10% cashback, capped at RM5 upon a minimum spend of RM30. This cashback is applicable to 200,000 newly registered Setel users who make their first transaction using Boost at Setel-enabled Petronas stations.
The cashback earned will be automatically credited into the Setel Partner Wallet in the user’s Boost account within seven working days. Any cashback stored in the Partner Wallet will be automatically deducted upon a minimum spend of RM20 with Boost at the user’s next visit to a participating Petronas station.
