Boost Rolls Out Automated Recurring Bill Payments

Boost Rolls Out Automated Recurring Bill Payments

by July 30, 2021

Homegrown e-wallet Boost has introduced three new bill payment features to provide Malaysians with the ability to pay their bills with a tap of a button without the hassle of multiple payment platforms and portals.

The new features; AutoBills, MultiBills and ViewBills are available on a single, centralised platform in the Boost app.

Of the three new features, AutoBills allow users to set automated recurring monthly payments.

MultiBills, on the other hand, allows users to pay multiple bills in one go. This feature can be likened to adding all bills due into a shopping cart and paying them all easily with a single checkout.

Lastly, ViewBills consolidates all bills registered under the users’ bill account number directly in the Boost app. It helps to verify that users are paying for the right bill and view their latest outstanding bill statement details without the need to search or refer to it elsewhere.

Boost reported that comparing the first half of 2021 to the same period in 2020, the Gross Transaction Value (GTV) of bill payments increased by 40%.

Currently, Boost has over 50 billers across water and electricity, telco prepaid and postpaid, internet, local councils, Astro, loans and hire purchase under its ‘Bill Payments’ offerings.

Sheyantha Abeykoon, CEO of Boost said,

“As most of the workforce has been working-from-home for almost a year and a half now, the lines of home and work life have blurred for many Malaysians. On top of work tasks and virtual meetings, managing household bills involving different service providers, due dates as well as payment portals can be stressful. We saw this as another area where we could come in and help make life easier for our more than 9 million users.”
