RHB Banking Group has launched the second phase of its mobile Automated Teller Machine (RHB Mobile ATM) service to drive greater financial accessibility amongst the underserved communities within the State of Sarawak.
The bank said that the expansion of the RHB Mobile ATM service further extends its reach in enhancing access to basic banking services for the rural communities.
These services aims to primarily benefit local residents by providing them with easy access to financial access points, while facilitating the delivery of financial assistance to low-income segments.
RHB Mobile ATM provides underserved rural communities basic financial facilities including cash withdrawals, fund transfers, loan and financing repayment/payment.
It also offers other services that are available via ATM and CDM, opening of savings accounts, financial advisory, mobile top-up services, as well as in facilitating the onboarding of customers for RHB Internet Banking and RHB Mobile Banking services.
“RHB has been actively supporting the Sarawak State Government’s financial inclusion efforts by making banking services available to the underserved communities in the state. Through this addition, the new RHB Mobile ATM will serve communities within Oya, Igan and Balingian. This is in addition to the ongoing banking services provided by the RHB Mobile ATM currently operating within Asajaya and Sadong Jaya.
Availability of the RHB Mobile ATM will be by fixed rotation to make it more convenient for the local residents to plan their visits and perform transactions. In addition to basic financial facilities, we have also made it even easier for customers to perform cash deposits with the inclusion of a Cash Deposit Machine (“CDM”) as part of the RHB Mobile ATM,”
said Mohammad Tony Ong Abdullah, Sarawak Regional Director of Group Retail Distribution, RHB Banking Group.
