Southeast Asian insurtech company Qoala has rolled out a new protection plan called Qoala Care, aimed at providing comprehensive coverage for Malaysian drivers.
The plan offers protection against a range of incidents including road liabilities, accidental death, and total permanent disability.
In the event of an accidental death or total permanent disability, the plan includes a lump-sum payment of up to RM100,000 as well as coverage of medical and funeral expenses of up to RM 1,000 and a daily hospital allowance of up to RM50.
Additionally, the protection plan will provide drivers with a complimentary towing mileage extension for their vehicle and an e-hailing claim within the first 48 hours.
The plan is available in three tiers: Basic, Gold, and Platinum, priced at RM48, RM89, and RM119 respectively, for a one-year subscription.
These can be added to existing motor insurance and motor takaful policies, with an expansion into health, travel, and property insurance planned in the near future.
Drivers who subscribe to the protection plan will have access to a dedicated claim support hotline at Qoala to have their claims facilitated and expedited with their respective motor insurer or takaful operator.
Jonathan Ong, Country Manager of Qoala Malaysia said,
“As the country’s most comprehensive insurance marketplace, we understand how emotions can overwhelm a person’s decision in times of calamity. We have bridged millions of Malaysians with affordable and accessible insurance and the launch of Qoala Care allows us to do more.
