Malaysian insurtech company PolicyStreet, in partnership with Kiddocare, a Khazanah-backed on-demand care services platform, has announced a new insurance initiative named Kiddocarer Protect+.
This programme aims to provide comprehensive insurance coverage for Kiddocare’s babysitters, known as Kiddocarers, while they are traveling to and working at job locations.
The insurance plan is touted to be Malaysia’s first professional liability insurance tailored for babysitters, offering up to RM1 million in coverage for unintentional bodily injuries or property damage.
This initiative not only enhances safety and trust for parents but also protects the babysitters during their employment.
Additional coverage under the Kiddocarer Protect+ includes benefits for accidental permanent disability, severe burns, and damage to the babysitters’ mobile phones.
Furthermore, in the event of an accidental death, a Dependent Child Supplement provides RM1,000 per child, capping at RM3,000 per family, to support the dependents of the deceased.
Yen Ming Lee, Co-founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of PolicyStreet said,
“Our collaboration with Kiddocare underscores our commitment to serving the underserved by empowering gig workers, particularly women, to become more financially resilient.
We are proud to support Kiddocare’s mission, which aligns with our dedication to ensuring financial security for all.”
Nadira Yusoff, Kiddocare’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer said,
“In line with our broader initiative to professionalise care as a career, it is important to highlight that Kiddocare takes pride in its comprehensive approach, which includes providing Kiddocarers with essential training and certification, along with offering robust financial safety nets like Kiddocarer Protect+.
These measures ensure that our caregivers are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to provide exceptional care.”
