Truely, a provider of eSIM services for international travelers, has raised US$3.5 million in a funding round led by 1982 Ventures.
Beenext and Kopital Ventures also participated, along with angel investors including former Airbnb executives JJ Chai and Kum Hong Siew, as well as Tranglo Founder Sia Hui Yong, Mohammad Gharaybeh, Qin En Looi, Eric Dadoun, and Gilbert Relou.
Launched in July 2023, Truely offers eSIM data plans in over 200 destinations and regions, eliminating the need for travelers to swap physical SIM cards.
The company aims to simplify global connectivity by providing affordable data packages and 24/7 support.
Truely’s eSIMs are compatible with most modern smartphones and can be installed quickly without replacing the user’s existing SIM card.
The company plans to use the funding to expand its services, including developing offerings for business travelers and partnering with travel operators and airlines.

“We created Truely with user experience at its core—understanding that incumbent options lacked user-friendliness and depend on burner eSIMs. Our flexible and affordable packages offer best-in-class coverage at affordable prices, while also achieving maximum ease-of-use.
Leveraging Truely’s Switchless eSIM technology, we will continue to release exciting and innovative products and features to meet diverse traveller needs, keeping travellers connected seamlessly wherever they go at unprecedented ease.”
said Simon Landsheer, Founder and CEO, Truely.

“Truely is well-positioned to dominate the massive eSIM market. No other team in the market has Truely’s track record of building successful business combined with the operators’ decades of experience in global telecom.
Truely’s technology stands out from existing players by making it easy and painless for consumers and enterprises to sustainably leverage global connectivity,”
said Herston Powers, Founding Managing Partner, 1982 Ventures.
