Malaysia’s Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has announced plans to integrate the My50 monthly pass with the TNG eWallet, according to a report by Business Today.
The My50 pass allows users unlimited travel on various public transport services for a fixed monthly fee, aiming to make commuting more affordable.
The integration with the TNG eWallet is intended to simplify the renewal process, allowing users to bypass queues at LRT station counters.
This is anticipated to be completed in the coming months and could lead to a more seamless public transport experience in Malaysia.
Loke highlighted the My50 pass as a crucial element in the government’s strategy to enhance public transport accessibility.
Currently, the government subsidises each user by RM1,200 annually to encourage the use of public transport.
He noted that these subsidies are designed to help alleviate living costs and reduce the number of vehicles on the roads, addressing both economic and environmental concerns.
Since its launch in 2019, the My50 pass has experienced significant growth, with over 220,000 users recorded as of September this year—doubling the initial figures.
Commuters typically pay less than RM2 daily for their journeys from home to work.
