Malaysian insurtech firm PolicyStreet has received the Financial Inclusivity Award at the Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF) 2024.
It was the only Malaysian company among eight winners selected from over 200 submissions across the region.
The award, endorsed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and supported by PwC Singapore and the Singapore Fintech Association (SFA), highlights innovative financial solutions that improve access to services for underserved communities.
Now in its ninth year, the Fintech Excellence Awards at SFF include six corporate categories and three individual mentor awards.
PolicyStreet was recognised for its insurance solutions designed for gig workers, small businesses, and other underserved groups.
These efforts include embedded insurance offerings integrated into everyday services and microinsurance products addressing the protection gap.
The company has provided insurance coverage to more than 200,000 gig workers and 1,500 small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Additionally, it offers personal accident coverage with loan protection benefits to over 10,000 Malaysians.
Licensed by the Labuan Financial Services Authority, PolicyStreet partners with over 40 insurers and takaful providers to create adaptable insurance products.
These solutions are designed to integrate into business systems, making it easier for organisations to offer insurance services while supporting financial security across Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and Australia.
“We are incredibly honoured to be recognised for our efforts in financial inclusivity. This award is a testament to our team’s dedication to making insurance more accessible.
It inspires us to continue innovating and delivering solutions that make financial security achievable for all,”
said Yen Ming Lee, Co-founder and Group CEO of PolicyStreet.
