TNG Digital is urging all TNG eWallet users to verify their accounts if they have not done so in order to enhance security and protect their accounts.
The TNG eWallet platform currently has over 28 million registered users, with more than 22 million accounts already verified.
The verification process, powered by electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) technology, aims to reduce risks such as fraud, unauthorised access, and mule accounts while ensuring a secure digital ecosystem.
Starting 20 December, new users registering for a TNG eWallet account will be required to verify their accounts immediately.
Existing non-verified users will be prompted to complete the process, and access to certain e-wallet features will be gradually restricted before accounts that remain unverified are eventually locked.
Balances in unverified accounts will remain safe and can be refunded upon request, ensuring users’ funds are not affected.
Instant approval will be granted if all checks pass. If additional review is required, the verification will proceed via manual review, which may take longer.
Users can complete the process by uploading a photo of an official ID, such as a MyKad or MyTentera, and taking a selfie for facial recognition.
Verified users benefit from enhanced security and access to additional features, including money-back guarantee coverage.
For detailed steps, users can refer to the verification guide or watch the instructional video available on YouTube.
Assistance is available through the TNG eWallet Careline, webform submissions, or by visiting the Sales & Service Centres in Bangsar South and Nu Sentral.
