BigPay users can now make QR payments at thousands of merchants across 48 countries with the integration of Alipay+ in its app.
This new feature allows users to either scan Alipay+ QR codes at checkout or generate their own QR code for payment, offering a convenient cashless option while traveling.
To use the service, users can tap the “Pay” button in the BigPay app, then either scan an Alipay+ QR code or present their own code to be scanned.
This functionality enhances payment simplicity while eliminating the need to carry cash or multiple cards during trips.
BigPay also offers advanced analytics to help users track and manage their expenses, ensuring they stay on top of their budgets, even while abroad.
In conjunction with this launch, BigPay is running “The Great Big Ong” campaign for a limited time.
Users who pay with Alipay+ can earn chances to win up to 88,888 AirAsia Points for every RM1 spent.
While Alipay+ aims to provide widespread coverage, availability may vary by destination.
Users will need to check BigPay’s help center for detailed information and support.
This announcement comes amidst reports of a mass resignation of BigPay’s top executives, including its CEO Zubin Rada Krishnan.
