TNG eWallet has introduced Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) Parking, allowing users to enter and exit participating car parks without tapping a physical card or making a pre-exit payment, according to a SoyaCincau report.
Currently available in 12 locations across Malaysia, TNG eWallet has confirmed that the feature will be expanded to more LPR-enabled car parks in the future.
Users can activate LPR Parking by launching the TNG eWallet app, selecting “More,” and then choosing “LPR Parking” or searching for “Parking” for quicker access.
The system prompts users to enable LPR for registered vehicles, automatically including all vehicles already linked to the account.
To proceed, users must agree to the auto-debit feature and authenticate the activation with a six-digit PIN.
Once completed, a confirmation notification is sent, and users can manage their LPR settings by enabling or disabling the feature for specific vehicles or adding new ones.
Up to 10 vehicles can be registered per account.
For a smooth experience, users should ensure their e-wallet has sufficient funds before exiting the parking facility.
There is no minimum balance required to enter.
Upon exiting, the system automatically deducts the parking fee based on the recorded duration and applicable rates, eliminating the need for smartphone interaction.
The LPR feature remains functional even if the user’s phone is lost, out of battery, or lacks an internet connection.
If the e-wallet balance is insufficient, alternative payment methods such as the TNG card can be used at the exit.
LPR Parking is currently available at select locations in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, and Sarawak.
These include Damansara City Mall, The Stories in Bukit Tunku, Holiday Inn Express on Jalan Raja Chulan, Kapas Condominium in Bangsar, Hospital Sultan Idris Shah, Setia City Residences, Kossan Tower in Setia Alam, Tamarind Square in Cyberjaya, Ten Kinrara in Puchong, and Subang Airport.
In Penang, the feature is available at Lot 710 on Jalan Datuk Ooh Chooi Cheng, while in Sarawak, it is supported at RAIA Hotel & Convention Centre in Kuching.
