BigPay, the fintech arm of Capital A, has named Monica Millares its new Chief Product Officer (CPO).
Millares, who took on the role a few weeks ago, announced the promotion in a recent LinkedIn post after more than seven years with the company.
In her announcement, Millares reflected on joining BigPay during the early days of Malaysia’s fintech scene, describing her journey from the company’s first product hire to CPO.
She acknowledged the challenges ahead and said the role would require continued personal growth.
Her appointment comes amid a broader leadership shake-up at BigPay.
Several senior executives, including CEO Zubin Rada Krishnan, COO Mitherpal Sidhu, Chief Growth and Commercial Officer Chris Manguera, and Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy Meirisha Berisdha, have recently exited.
All three co-founders—Salim Dhanani, Chris Davison, and Navin Rajagopalan—have also departed over the years.
Capital A, which owns a 99.56% stake in BigPay, recently announced plans to sell a majority stake in the fintech unit to an undisclosed regional bank.
The move was driven by capital requirements, as BigPay remains Capital A’s only loss-making non-aviation business.
According to Capital A’s latest operating statistics, BigPay’s cardholder base grew to over 1.6 million by the end of 2024, up from 1.5 million a year earlier.
