Google has introduced the integration of ShopeePay and TNG eWallet with Google Pay for Android users in Malaysia, marking its first e-wallet partnerships in Southeast Asia.
The move allows users to make payments on mobile sites using their preferred e-wallets via Google Chrome, beginning with selected online merchants.
The integration also enables users to top up their ShopeePay and TNG eWallet balances directly through Google Pay.
In future updates, users will be able to view their e-wallet balances within the app.
When shopping at participating merchants, users can select Google Pay at checkout or choose the “eWallet” option in Chrome to pay without needing to switch between apps.
A one-time verification is required for the first e-wallet payment through Google Pay for security purposes. Subsequent transactions will use fingerprint or PIN verification.
In addition to providing more payment options for card users, the integration aims to support greater cashless adoption by reaching underbanked consumers who rely on e-wallets for digital transactions.
Initial merchants supporting the service include businesses using Fiuu, such as Nando’s and US Pizza, and those using iPay88, like Alpro Pharmacy, TK Bakery, and Yoyo Bus.
Google said it plans to expand the service to include more partners over time.

Farhan S. Qureshi, Country Director, Google Malaysia said,
“By integrating with trusted local platforms like ShopeePay and TNG eWallet, we are localising Google Pay to match their everyday payment preferences, and delivering a frictionless and secure manner when shopping on their favourite mobile sites on Google Chrome. As the first market in the region to offer this integration, Malaysia also has the potential to set a new standard for digital payment innovation across Southeast Asia.”
