TNG Digital has introduced a feature that lets international tourists register for the TNG eWallet, allowing them to make cashless payments at over 2 million merchants across Malaysia.
The move simplifies payments for visitors, especially at local businesses like hawker stalls and small vendors that typically do not accept card payments.
Tourists from ASEAN countries can sign up using their existing mobile numbers and top up their e-wallets with credit or debit cards issued in their home countries, or via supported remittance services.
The e-wallet is compatible with DuitNow QR, which is part of PayNet’s interoperable network of more than 2.5 million merchant touchpoints, enabling seamless payments for transport, food, shopping, and attractions nationwide.
Verification codes for registration will be sent primarily via WhatsApp.
TNG Digital plans to expand the service to tourists from other regions such as China, South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong.
The rollout comes as Malaysia prepares for Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and aims to boost local spending and digital inclusion through tourism.

Alan Ni, Chief Executive Officer of TNG Digital Sdn Bhd, shared,
“As travellers ourselves, we understand how important it is to feel confident and connected when exploring a new place. We’ve been supporting Malaysians travelling abroad with offerings like overseas QR payments, Touch ‘n Go eWallet Visa Card, travel eSIMs and travel insurance.
Now, we’re proud to offer that same seamless digital journey to international tourists visiting Malaysia. It’s part of our commitment to financial inclusion—and to helping Malaysia grow as a smart, tourist-friendly destination.”
