ShopeePay and Zurich General Takaful Malaysia have collaborated to introduce Zurich Travel Takaful, a Shariah-compliant travel protection plan offered digitally.
This partnership makes Zurich Travel Takaful accessible through the ShopeePay platform.
The plan caters to the demand for Shariah-compliant protection options for travellers.
It is available for both domestic travel, starting from RM3 per day, and international travel, from RM15.99 per day.
This marks ShopeePay’s first travel protection offering, providing choices for single-trip or annual coverage to suit both occasional and frequent travellers.
Zurich Travel Takaful provides coverage up to RM300,000 for medical expenses and personal accidents during travel.
Additional benefits include compensation for travel cancellation, delays, curtailment, baggage delays, and loss of personal effects or travel documents.
Participants also have access to Zurich’s 24-hour travel assistance hotline.
To mark the launch, users can access limited-time discounts, including 5% off for group travel involving 2 to 5 people, 10% off for groups of 6 to 10 people, and a 15% discount on VIP Plan upgrades for both single-trip and annual options.
Interested users can subscribe to the plan through the ShopeePay app or the main Shopee app by navigating to the relevant takaful or protection section, selecting the plan, confirming details, and completing the payment.
The subscription process can reportedly be completed in under three minutes.
The platform also offers SPayLater as a Shariah-compliant option to pay contributions in instalments.
SPayLater is available for all takaful and insurance products on ShopeePay and Shopee, with options to pay the following month or in instalments ranging from 3 to 12 months.
