TNG Digital has launched the TNG Digital Business Account, a fully digital e-wallet account aimed at supporting micro, small, and informal businesses in Malaysia.
The new account is designed to simplify financial management for micro-SMEs and gig workers by enabling income tracking, payments, and fund transfers through a mobile device.
Issued by TNG Digital, a regulated e-money issuer under Bank Negara Malaysia, the Business Account requires no fees, paperwork, or minimum balance.
It is targeted at small enterprises typically excluded from traditional financial services, including hawkers, informal merchants, and gig workers.
Alan Ni, Chief Executive Officer of TNG Digital said,
“TNG Digital Business Account was built to address a clear gap. Although micro and small businesses contribute nearly 40% of GDP and support almost half of the nation’s workforce, many still lack access to tools that help them scale and operate efficiently in a digital economy.”
He added,
“We’re removing the barriers and allowing SMEs to open an account instantly, receive funds in real time, and make transfers seamlessly across banks and e-wallets, all within a secure and inclusive ecosystem, at zero cost.”
Dr. Hajah Fuziah Binti Salleh, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), commented,
“The launch of the Business Account by TNG Digital today is a new product that will add value to the MSME community in our country. What we are witnessing is an important step towards creating a more accessible system, especially for those who have previously been left out of the benefits of digital services.”
The account includes features to enhance merchant visibility and customer engagement, such as the Near Me function and GOyang-GOyang cashback and voucher tools.
Security functions include a dedicated PIN, a kill switch, and round-the-clock fraud protection.
TNG Digital also plans to expand the service in future to include micro-lending, savings, and protection products tailored for micro and small businesses.
