NTT DATA Payment Services has launched the ADAPTIS Soundbox, a compact, voice-enabled payment device designed for SMEs, including retailers and F&B outlets in Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
This is the company’s first regional rollout of the device in Southeast Asia.
The soundbox accepts payments via QR codes, contactless cards, and e-wallets, with a clear sound alert confirming each successful transaction.
This helps staff manage peak-hour traffic without needing to check screens or printed receipts, while reducing the risk of payments being misdirected to the wrong account.
The plug-and-play device requires no technical setup and is available with no rental fees or minimum transaction commitments.
It is sold at a one-time introductory price, with delivery in Malaysia within one working day of registration.
To support sustainability, the device includes a QR-based e-receipt feature.
Merchants can also track payments in real time via an online dashboard to simplify daily reconciliation.
The soundbox is part of NTT DATA Payment Services’ ADAPTIS In-Store suite, which also includes vending payment solutions, POS terminals and EDC devices, payment processing infrastructure, and integrated POS systems.

“As an established and trusted payment services provider with decades of experience, we are proud to introduce a solution that truly supports the needs of growing businesses across Southeast Asia.
The ADAPTIS Soundbox reflects our commitment to offering practical, user-friendly tools that enhance merchant efficiency, from fast checkouts and instant payment alerts to paperless operations.”
said Frances Choo, Group Head Product & Partnerships at NTT DATA Payment Services.
