CIMB has partnered with the Nicol David Organisation to roll out a youth programme that links financial literacy with movement-based learning.
The +Play Finance Programme was introduced at Karnival Celik Kewangan in Penang, a nationwide financial literacy initiative led by Bank Negara Malaysia.
The programme combines money management lessons with physical activities and mental wellness elements to help students build confidence and practical life skills.
More than 750 students from 30 Klang Valley schools will take part in four weekly sessions that blend movement-based exercises with basic financial concepts such as saving, budgeting and responsible spending.
Organisers said the format aims to make financial topics more accessible for younger students, especially since money matters are not often discussed openly in school environments.
The initiative supports CIMB’s Kita Bagi Jadi Komuniti efforts to broaden financial inclusion by giving students early exposure to habits that encourage long-term stability.
The programme also introduces financial goal-setting through activities designed to help students practise sound judgement from a young age.

Gurdip Singh Sidhu, CEO of CIMB Bank Berhad and CIMB Malaysia said,
“CIMB recognises that meaningful progress happens when communities are equipped with the tools and opportunities to thrive. Financial literacy, when nurtured early, becomes a powerful tool for lifelong success, enabling young people to make informed decisions, plan and contribute positively to their communities.
The +Play Finance Programme, developed together with the Nicol David Organisation, represents our commitment to delivering learning in a way that is both engaging and impactful.”

Datuk Nicol David, founder of NDO and former world squash champion said,
“+Play Finance brings together the values forged through sport, resilience, discipline and respect, with the financial awareness needed to navigate life responsibly.
Through this collaboration with CIMB, we aspire to inspire a generation of Malaysians who are ready to lead with purpose and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation.”
