Bank Islam Malaysia has introduced a Payment to Voice feature in its BIMB Biz app to improve digital payments for small and micro businesses.
The tool provides real-time voice alerts for every successful DuitNow QR transaction at no cost and without requiring devices such as a soundbox.
It aims to reduce missed notifications, lower operating costs and strengthen confidence in digital payments.
Group Chief Business Officer for Retail Banking Mizan Masram said it supports the bank’s goal of offering relevant and inclusive solutions for business customers.
Payment to Voice allows up to five cashiers to receive transaction alerts on existing devices, while business owners are notified of completed payments.
It is available on Android, iOS and Huawei devices. Customers can access the feature by downloading or updating the BIMB Biz app, which requires iOS 13 or Android 10 and above.
BIMB Biz, launched in July 2021, supports micro, small and medium enterprises with DuitNow QR payment collection, account management and organised transaction tracking.
The recorded data helps merchants build a credit history that can improve future access to banking services.
As of October 2025, BIMB Biz had about 15,000 active users and RM1.2 billion in transactions.
Bank Islam aims to grow its user base by 50 percent over the next year, particularly among stall operators, small eateries, night market traders, bazaar vendors and zakat collection agents.

“Bank Islam believes that technology should simplify business operations, not add to the burden. Every merchant, regardless of the size or location of their business, deserves access to practical, secure, and affordable solutions.
Payment to Voice is designed to address the real needs of micro and SME business owners by incorporating elements that control operational costs, enhance security, and help them record transactions in an organised manner. The improvements to the BIMB Biz application are part of our efforts to ensure that Bank Islam customers are prepared to participate and compete in the digital economy,”
Mizan said.
