Kenanga Investment Bank has introduced what it describes as Malaysia’s first tokenised unit trust money market funds to go live in the local market.
The move expands retail access to blockchain-based investment products.
The launch, unveiled at Blockchain Summit 2026 during Japan Fintech Week, saw Kenanga Group roll out Myrra, a token platform built on the Stellar blockchain.
The platform enables the tokenisation of real-world assets, starting with the Kenanga Money Market Fund and the Kenanga Islamic Money Market Fund, both managed by Kenanga Investors.
Through Myrra, investors can buy and sell digital tokens that correspond on a one-to-one basis with units in the two money market funds.
Each token grants the holder the same legal and economic rights as a traditional unit holder. Transactions are conducted via Myrra’s web portal.
Stellar, a blockchain network designed to support regulated financial products and asset issuance, is already used by global institutions for tokenised financial instruments.

“The implementation of tokenisation is a strategic initiative to evolve our existing distribution and operational processes and capabilities through the operational efficiencies offered by Distributed Ledger Technology.
We believe this will work towards driving investor participation without compromising regulatory standards and transparency.”
said Datuk Wira Ismitz Matthew De Alwis, CEO and Executive Director of Kenanga Investors.
The Kenanga Money Market Fund seeks to provide regular income while preserving capital through investments in money market instruments, debentures and deposits.
Its Islamic counterpart follows similar objectives in line with Shariah principles, catering to investors seeking stable, short-term returns.
