AEON360 has teamed up with Google Cloud to simplify how customers shop, pay and access services across the AEON ecosystem.
The multi-year partnership will begin in Malaysia before expanding to other Southeast Asian markets where AEON operates.
It is part of AEON360’s plan to connect its retail, financial services and lifestyle businesses through AI.

Daisuke Maeda, Chairman of AEON360, said,
“With Google Cloud, we’re shifting from simple digital interactions to AI agents that surface the most relevant offerings and perform complex tasks on our customers’ behalf, starting in Malaysia, with a roadmap to expand across key Southeast Asian markets that we’re present in.
Through our Innovation Foundry, we’re upskilling our staff to be the architects of this agentic commerce future, anchored on a data foundation that adapts to evolving preferences, predicated on customer consent.”
AEON360 will use Google Cloud’s BigQuery to build a shared data foundation across its businesses.
The company said this will support AI tools that can surface more relevant products, pricing, rewards and financing options based on customer behaviour and consented data.
The system is designed to create a more connected customer journey across AEON’s platforms.
For example, shoppers could receive product recommendations, member pricing, stock availability and payment or rewards options across services such as myAEON2go and AEON MaxValu.
The partnership also includes AI development and staff training
Google Cloud will help set up the AEON360 Innovation Foundry in Kuala Lumpur.
The centre will train employees and support the development of AI tools for commerce and customer engagement.
AEON360 said it will use Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience to support shopping and customer service functions.
The company is also exploring the Universal Commerce Protocol, an open standard developed by Google, to extend these services beyond its own platforms.
This could allow customers to interact with AEON brands through Google Search and receive relevant offers.
AEON360 is also exploring integrations with Google Pay and Google Wallet to support agent-led transactions across touchpoints.

Hana Raja, Country Manager for Malaysia at Google Cloud, said,
“For too long, traditional retail technologies have created fragmented experiences where shoppers are forced to restart their journeys at every turn. AEON360 is changing this by using Google Cloud’s full-stack AI to turn toilsome browsing into a frictionless experience.
Our collaboration will deliver agentic commerce solutions grounded in a ‘continuous thread’ of context—ensuring that information flows with the shopper to help AEON360 anticipate and act on what they need next.”
AEON360 is a joint venture between AEON Credit Service (M) Bhd and AEON Co. (M) Bhd.
It was set up to unify AEON Group’s retail, finance and lifestyle businesses through a shared membership and data platform.
