Generali has partnered with AmanahRaya to launch Gen Sinar, an affordable personal accident insurance plan aimed at providing financial protection to underserved families.
The initiative is a purpose-driven social protection programme. It aims to improve financial resilience among underserved households, particularly by safeguarding children’s education.
The launch event took place at Kompleks Komuniti Muhibbah, drawing community leaders, local residents, and industry representatives.
Gen Sinar costs RM91.28 for the first year and RM59.40 for subsequent years, inclusive of stamp duty and 8% service tax.
In the event of a fatal accident or permanent disability, the plan provides an immediate lump sum payment of RM20,000 to help manage financial shocks.
To support long-term security, the plan offers a monthly education allowance of RM250 per child until the child turns 18. This provides cumulative education support of up to RM100,000.

“By making protection accessible to underserved families, we aim to ensure that children can continue their education even in the most difficult circumstances,”
said Fabrice Benard, Chief Executive Officer of Generali.
Trustee management and healthcare benefits
AmanahRaya administers all education benefits as the official trustee and holds the funds in trust exclusively for children’s schooling, ensuring transparent management.
The policy also includes a complimentary telemedicine benefit to aid family well-being.
Households receive up to two digital healthcare consultations per year via phone or video call, with each session valued at up to RM60.

“Through Gen Sinar, we hope to provide greater peace of mind to families, while ensuring that the support intended for children’s education is properly safeguarded and managed for their future benefit,”
said Jack Yap Ngee Heong, Acting Group Managing Director and Group Chief Business and Operating Officer of AmanahRaya.
