Malaysia has launched Rakyat Digital to give more local youths access to AI tools and digital skills training.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo announced the platform at AI Malaysia Takeover 2026 as part of the government’s push to build AI capabilities and support its goal of becoming an AI nation by 2030.
Rakyat Digital brings several learning initiatives under one platform, including the Digital Literacy Hub.
It also features a hybrid AI Builders Hub where users can learn, experiment and develop practical AI applications.
The platform will also provide access to more than 16,000 Coursera courses and professional certifications.
From 31 August, up to 100,000 Malaysians aged 18 to 30 will be eligible for three months of complimentary access to selected AI tools.
Rakyat Digital will also offer free and paid digital literacy and skills courses as the government looks to widen access to digital learning and encourage more Malaysians to build with AI.
The platform is available through the Rakyat Digital portal.
