We speak frequently of disrupting the financial industry but yet, we rarely talk about how outdated and dull our events are. It’s filled with canned corporate speak and rehashed ideas repeated over and over again on stage.
In that spirit, Fintech Barcamp @ Langkawi would like to throw everything you know about events out the window.
About The Event
No Boring Presentations
All sessions will be handpicked and selected by the participants
No Ties! Only Shorts
Relax, take off your tie and suit, we intend to keep a casual environment that conducive for interaction
No Spectators, Only Participants
Engage, discuss, debate. All attendees are expected to be leading a session or actively engaging during the session.
BarCamp is an ad-hoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees.
Excluding some specially curated sessions, all sessions will be presented by participants who volunteer to lead a session and the sessions with the most votes will be included in the agenda
1. Think of a session topic you’d like to lead that’s related to fintech
2. It could be a presentation, you could group up with some buddies to form panel discussion , an “Ask Me Anything Session” or event a fireside chat moderated by us.
3.Write the topic and your name this is like a little coversheet for each of your session(s) that contains everything we’ll need to know about your session
4. The participants will vote on which sessions they would like to participate in, the session with most votes will be slotted in
