Fraud Analyst
Description
  • Providing analytical support to the Risk Management team in order to prevent fraud, mitigate risk and drive revenue growth
  • Serve consumers that have enquiries pertaining to risk and fraud
  • Identify and monitor the potential risks due to fraud in all areas of the customer lifecycle of our e-wallet and related services
  • Identify, analyse and escalate any key items regarding fraud or potential fraud
  • Launch investigation and gather on-site evidence to prepare investigation report to be shared with management in order to plan mitigation measures and reviews of processes
  • Working with cross functional teams to design and implement risk and fraud control strategies based on data analysis
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with the authorities including law enforcement and regulators in order to resolve fraud related issues efficiently
  • Keep updated with developments and trends in fraud and risk and regulatory landscape and advise management on key issues that have the potential to impact the business in particular related to payments, financial services, fintech and e-commerce.
  • Provide advice and guidance to customer-facing teams in order to ensure quick and orderly resolution of fraud related issues without compromising customer goodwill
  • Play role in Risk & Fraud knowledge development and mentorship to junior colleagues
  • To carry out other ad-hoc tasks as specified by the supervisor / leader from time to time.
  • Analysis of rich user and transaction data to surface patterns, trends, and bugs that help inform TNGD’s fraud policies and processes and contribute to fraud prevention mechanisms
  • Optimize fraud rules and algorithms to maintain strong fraud detection by rapidly identifying emerging fraud trends through data driven analysis and develop tactical/strategic fraud rules to address them.
Responsibilities
  • A degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Sciences, Maths field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a hands-on fraud, analyst/analytics, or customer support experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to analyze and research data to identify and resolve complex issues relating to fraud
  • Strong experience in handling large scale unstructured data. Experience in SQL or other data handling tools, as well as ability to learn more advanced data
  • Business intelligence experience using tools such as Tableau and Excel.
  • Working experience of any of the data analysis tools such as R, DASS, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to analyze and research data to identify and resolve complex issues relating to fraud
  • Strong experience in handling large scale unstructured data. Experience in SQL or other data handling tools, as well as ability to learn more advanced data
  • Business intelligence experience using tools such as Tableau and Excel.
  • Working experience of any of the data analysis tools such as R, DASS, etc.
  • Exposure to fintech, payments, e-commerce is an advantage.
  • Willing to travel and will be required to investigate fraud issues on-site
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and mature mindset in approaching complex issues
  • Inquisitive by nature and able to work with data to uncover root causes and identify trends
  • Strong communication skills
  • Acquired presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a start-up environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to make sound judgement calls independently when presented with difficult decisions, especially when only partial information is available
  • Ability to take initiative in a fast-moving environment
