    PETRONAS FutureTech 3.0 Shortlists 20 Local and Asia Pacific Startups

    PETRONAS has announced the selection of 20 startups from across Asia Pacific to participate in the third edition of PETRONAS FutureTech, an intensive technology accelerator programme.

    The PETRONAS FutureTech 3.0, co-organised with StartupX, a Singapore-based innovation, venture and startup enabler, marks a significant milestone as it welcomes startups and partners from the region for the first time.

    The 20 startups were selected from a competitive pool of applicants representing Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India and Australia.

    Arni Laily Anwarrudin, Head of PETRONAS Ventures said,

    “At PETRONAS, we are dedicated to support the growth of startup founders and fostering collaboration and innovation between multi-industry corporations and startup technology companies. We welcome the new FutureTech 3.0 cohort, which represents a diverse range of interesting technologies Corporates are actively seeking.

     

    Through the programme, we hope to impart industry best practices while providing startups greater market access for growth and scalability across the region. By embracing forward-thinking approaches driven by technology, PETRONAS is committed to developing sustainable solutions that will drive positive change and contribute to a greener and more resilient future.”

    In addition to the 20, 5 startups from PETRONAS’ internal innovation programme, PETRONAS Innovation Garage and SEEd.Lab will also be joining the FutureTech 3.0 cohort. This collaboration is expected to create a blend of technology and social development solutions.

    FutureTech 3.0’s 16-week hybrid programme will commence with an industry immersion week in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore consist of experiential learning and physical site visits.

    The startups will also be given an opportunity to showcase their solutions and offerings to an international audience at Energy Asia 2023 from 26 to 28 June in Kuala Lumpur.

    Since its launch for entries in February 2023, FutureTech 3.0 has welcomed seven new corporate partners, including Gentari, Tenaga Nasional, DRB-HICOM, Sembcorp Industries, Hyundai Motor Company, Vitol and Khazanah Nasional.

    The programme will also be supported by ecosystem partners, namely Cradle, Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology & Innovation (MRANTI), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), SG Innovate, Leave a Nest Group, National Technology & Innovation Sandbox (NTIS), MyStartup and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

    The programme has already demonstrated its potential, with three ventures from past two cohorts receiving investments from PETRONAS Ventures and over 20 companies collaborating with PETRONAS on the business front.

    A robotics platform with intelligent 3D scanning and AI robot motion planning systems; no-code robot programming.

    Beep Technologies 

    A unified e-mobility platform providing a borderless & interoperable charging experience for drivers.

    BotsyncA low code platform used to simplify robotic integration.

    DivigasProduces next generation Hydrogen Separation Membranes.

    Entomal Biotech 

    The fly breeder that cleans your waste.

    Evfy 

    A tech-enabled sustainable logistics solutions provider.

    Hydrexia 

    A renewable energy infrastructure provider that spans across the entire spectrum of hydrogen supply chain.

    Ion MobilityAn electric motorcycle and energy storage solutions provider.

    Kazam EV Tech Kazam is an e-mobility platform with globally scalability, empowering charge point operators, fleet operators, electricity grids & vehicle OEMs, digitising and managing the entire value chain of electric vehicles.

    MagoriumTechnology converts contaminated and unsorted plastic into a new road construction material to pave greener roads.

    Midwest Composites 

    Sustainably engineered biocomposites using natural fibers and resins for green mobility solutions.

    Mycotech 

    Develops sustainable and high-performance mycelium leather material.

    Open EnergyRevolutionising B2B fleets with HyperSwap, the most advanced & affordable EV Battery Swap and Energy Storage solution, enabling non-stop, sustainable operation. Complete EV platforms and advanced engineering drive New Mobility & Energy solutions.

    Process Botics 

    AI-enabled platform that helps in the decarbonisation of real estate & infrastructure sectors (measuring emissions).

    Qarbotech Upcycles agrowaste to produce light capturing technology for agriculture, horticulture, carbon capture and renewable energy.

    SunGreenH2

    Supercharging electrolysers and manufacturing affordable and scalable green energy.

    TraceX Technologies 

    A blockchain powered sustainability and decarbonisation platform to build a nature-positive, climate resilient, and equitable future.

    Wildfire Energy 

    Focus on distributed energy and hydrogen recovery from residual biomass and wastes.

    Zapp WorldWe take the solution to the problem, zapping waste and emissions at source.

    TigasferaIntegrated on-site waste conversion solution to empower organisations towards circular economy and renewable energy.
