Bursa Malaysia, TNG Digital, and Affin Hwang Investment Bank have launched e-Trade, a new feature within TNG eWallet that allows users to trade equities listed on the local stock exchange.

This is said to be the first equities market trading feature within a digital wallet in Malaysia.

The new feature is part of the GOfinance hub, which aims to make stock market investments more accessible to retail investors.

e-Trade provides a seamless platform for buying and selling stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) listed on Bursa Malaysia.

Additionally, it offers educational resources from MyBURSA to help new investors learn about the equities market.

This initiative is designed for beginner investors, offering straightforward features and access to real-time market data to simplify stock trading.

Users can open accounts, trade equities, and monitor portfolios directly within the e-wallet, making it easier to participate in the stock market.

Incentives such as waived Central Depository System (CDS) account opening fees and a reduced brokerage fee of RM3 per trade are being offered to encourage adoption and lower the barriers for new investors.

Nurjesmi Mohd Nashir, Chief Executive Officer of Affin Hwang Investment Bank, said,

“We are delighted to offer retail investors an easy-to-use trading platform with real-time data and responsive customer support. This launch is well timed, as retail investors are already playing a big role in our market.

We believe this new feature will encourage even more people to invest, which will increase the vibrancy and liquidity of the capital market.”

Alan Ni, Chief Executive Officer of TNG Digital, added,

“This initiative aligns perfectly with Bursa Malaysia’s efforts to democratise equity investments and promote financial inclusion among Malaysians. Serving over 21 million verified users, TNG eWallet is the daily go-to platform for many Malaysians.

With this new feature, we not only offer a user-friendly interface but also stringent security measures, providing a convenient and secure investment experience. e-Trade, one of the many investment options within GOfinance, is designed to expand, providing greater access to a variety of investment opportunities, enhancing financial empowerment and encouraging greater participation in the stock market.”
