Alliance Bank has announced that its Visa credit cardholders can now add their cards to Samsung Pay and Google Pay.
The integration includes the Visa Platinum Virtual Credit Card with Dynamic Card Number and allows users to make contactless payments using NFC technology at retail outlets across Malaysia.
This development comes as digital wallets gain popularity in Malaysia, with 63% of Malaysians reportedly using them for transactions, according to a Bernama report from May 2024.
The move enables Alliance Bank cardholders to make payments through Android mobile and wearable devices, offering an additional option for cashless transactions.
Cardholders can link their virtual Visa credit cards via the allianceonline mobile app by selecting “Add to Samsung Pay” or “Add to Google Pay” and completing the authentication process.
Physical cards can be added by scanning or entering card details directly into the Samsung Wallet or Google Wallet apps.
The integration prioritises security by using encrypted digital tokens for transactions and provides real-time notifications for purchases.
Cardholders can also access their recent transaction history through the apps.
