RHB Banking Group has launched a new version of its mobile banking application, aimed at delivering a more streamlined, secure, and user-friendly experience.
The update forms part of the Group’s broader digitalisation efforts under its three-year PROGRESS27 strategy.
The revised app includes a redesigned interface with improved loading speeds and security enhancements.
These include biometric authentication, a built-in transaction security layer known as SecurePlus, and protection against malicious apps.
Jeffrey Ng, Managing Director of Group Community Banking at RHB, said,

“The new RHB MBK App reflects our ongoing commitment to making banking more accessible, seamless, and secure for all Malaysians. We have designed this app with user experience at its core, empowering our customers to take control of their finances anytime, anywhere with confidence and ease.”
Among the updated features is what RHB describes as Malaysia’s first banking widget, allowing users to carry out basic functions such as payments and transfers directly from their device’s home screen without opening the app.
The app also integrates RHB’s Multi-Currency Account (MCA), enabling users to buy and sell foreign currencies at competitive rates.
Additionally, reward points earned through regular banking activities can now be redeemed directly within the app.
User response has been largely positive.
On the Google Play Store, the app’s rating has increased from 3.5 to 4.7, while it continues to hold a 4.8 rating on the Apple App Store.
The updated user interface now provides an overview of financial information across accounts and cards in a single glance.
As part of the rollout, RHB has partnered with PayNet on a customer rewards campaign aimed at encouraging the use of QR code payments.
The initiative comes as Malaysia reports a 66.1% adoption rate of QR payments, the second highest globally after China.
Running from 1 May to 31 October 2025, the campaign offers customers the chance to win a share of RM450,000 in cashback rewards.
Every RM10 transaction made using DuitNow QR via the app will count as five entries in the draw.
Azrul Fakhzan Mainor, Senior Director of Commercial at PayNet, commented:

“As the national payments infrastructure provider, PayNet values this collaboration with RHB in advancing secure, seamless digital payments to further accelerate DuitNow QR adoption by its customers, which grew by 190% in 2024, far exceeding the ecosystem’s year-on-year growth rate.”
The updated RHB Mobile Banking App is available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
