Bank Islam will fully discontinue its Be U digital banking app on 31 July 2026, according to Amanz, as the bank moves users towards its main BIMB Mobile platform.
The bank had stopped new registrations for Be U in May and previously indicated that users would be shifted to Bank Islam accounts.
On its website, Be U noted that the app will remain available until 31 July 2026 to give customers time to prepare for the transition.
From 1 August 2026, users will be able to continue their banking activities through BIMB Mobile, which Bank Islam describes as offering more features, greater convenience and a more connected digital banking experience.
Be U users with a Qard Savings Account-i or Awfar account who already have BIMB Mobile can begin the process by initiating account closure through the Be U app and transferring their funds to a Bank Islam account.
Users may also transfer their remaining balance to another bank account before the deadline.
After 31 July 2026, the Be U Visa Debit Card-i will no longer be active.
Customers have been advised to unlink the card from any connected services or subscriptions and to update or stop any recurring payments linked to their Be U account before the shutdown.
Users should also download their Be U account statements from the app before 31 July 2026, as these may no longer be accessible after the service ends.
Bank Islam will continue supporting Be U users through the transition as it focuses on BIMB Mobile as its main digital banking platform.
