PeerHive has shut down as former co-founder and CEO Vincent Yeo moves on to a new credit-focused role at TEIZA.
PeerHive was a fintech startup working on a decentralised lending platform using blockchain technology and smart contracts.
The company was one of six firms selected for the first cohort of the Securities Commission Malaysia’s regulatory sandbox in November 2025.
PeerHive was chosen under the sandbox’s alternative financing focus area.
The sandbox was set up to allow firms to test new capital market solutions in a controlled environment.
Participants were expected to run their tests over about 12 months, with two testing batches scheduled to begin in January or July 2026, depending on readiness.

Yeo said in a LinkedIn post,
“It is painful to close this chapter, especially after seeing how far the idea came and how much conviction the team, partners, and early supporters brought into it.
At the same time, I’m proud of what we attempted. Building in fintech is never easy. Building in a regulated space is even harder. But the lessons, relationships, and scars from this journey are things I’ll carry forward.”
Following the shutdown, Yeo will join TEIZA as Product Lead, Credit, where he will focus on local credit facilities.
He added that the new role would allow him to continue working in the credit space through a different platform.
