RHB Bank announced the launch of their brand new mobile banking app today. From first impressions, the new app appears to sleeker and have a more intuitive UI.

Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli, Group Managing Director, RHB Banking Group shared that with the launch of this new mobile banking app, they are targeting to double the number of mobile banking users from 500,000 to 1 million by the end of this year.

Through this new mobile banking app, they are also eyeing to increase transaction value via digital channels from 66% to over 80% by 2022.

RHB is intending to achieve these goals through several functionalities that they consider to be “killer features”.

One of the features that stood out to us was the “One Touch Payment” which allows users to make payments up RM 500 to 8 specified recipients without needing a full login.

It also features an auto alert and push notification for upcoming payments and due dates, where users can tap the notification and make payment with a single push of a button.

The new RHB Mobile Banking app will co-exist with the old app and internet banking platform before it is gradually integrated into a single platform the next 12 months.

Dato Khairussaleh also told Fintech News Malaysia on the sidelines that they are looking to enable QR payments and contactless payments through the same app very soon.

The app is now available for download on App Store and Google Play.
