UK-based embedded services provider mmob Ltd today announced that Arsalaan (Oz) Ahmed will join as its Executive Chairman. Oz had co-founded mmob with its CEO Irfan Khan in 2020.
Moving forward, Oz will be based in Malaysia where mmob has a subsidiary, mmob Sdn Bhd, servicing the ASEAN region.
Oz is a banking leader with nearly two decades of experience in financial services. He was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of Al Rajhi Banking & Investment Corporation (Malaysia) (ARBM).
At 36 years old, Oz was the youngest CEO of an Islamic bank in Malaysia when he was first appointed in 2016.
He was instrumental in the launch of ARBM’s digital bank, Rize that was launched in December 2022. The app is growing in popularity thanks in part to its attractive interest rate.
mmob provides technology solutions for financial institutions and non-financial institutions to seamlessly embed third party products and services. The company’s universal adapter helps clients drive customer reach, engagement, and value generation.
The fintech is regulated by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is a Malaysia Digital status company. mmob is certified for ISO27001, Cyber Essential +, and holds an open banking license from the UK FCA.
“It is very exciting to be able to join a visionary fintech leader in Irfan Khan and the tremendously talented team at mmob to support the expansion and growth of the business, helping clients internationally with maximising the very significant opportunities in Embedded Finance and Services,”
said Oz.
“We are indeed honoured to have Oz on board. With an experienced and respected leader at the helm, equipped with skills to navigate a sizeable, growing, and increasingly mainstream sector, with a focused growth within the enterprise segment, mmob is poised to continue to unlock value for our clients, the communities we serve, and our shareholders. We at mmob are shaping and helping clients ensure that they are ready to compete in the Embedded Services revolution,”
added Irfan Khan, CEO of mmob.
