Malaysia’s first digital bank, GXBank, has broadened its offerings by introducing QR code payments.
Customers can now use DuitNow QR codes for a variety of transactions, including money transfers between friends and family by scanning QR codes. Additionally, GXBank enables payments at stores displaying DuitNow QR codes.
To ensure security, GXBank has set daily limits. There’s a daily payment limit that is specifically for merchant payments, with a default of RM1,000 and a maximum of RM5,000.
A separate daily transfer limit is applicable to all types of transfers, including those to other banks, DuitNow transfers, and peer-to-peer QR transfers, with a default of RM5,000 and a maximum of RM50,000.
To use the QR payment feature, users simply need to open the GXBank app, scan a DuitNow QR code, enter the amount, and complete the transaction. If a payment fails or encounters issues, the transaction is typically reversed within 24 hours.
GXBank customers can conveniently share their QR codes for receiving peer-to-peer payments. There are no fees associated with all QR code transactions.
While the ability to pay merchants by presenting a personal QR code is expected to be available soon, GXBank offers dedicated customer support channels for any issues with QR payments.
For assistance, customers can reach GXBank through in-app live chat, the customer support hotline (+603 7498 3188), or email.
