Travel Insurance Starting at RM3/Day Now Available on Shopee

by April 15, 2024

SeaMoney, the financial arm of Sea Limited, has expanded its insurance offerings in Malaysia by launching a new travel insurance product available through the Shopee platform, in partnership with Allianz General Insurance Malaysia.

This new offering, accessible via Shopee, starts at RM3 per day for domestic trips and RM10 for international travellers.

It includes up to RM150,000 in personal accident benefits and up to RM165,000 for medical-related benefits, encompassing hospitalisation and COVID-19 protection.

The insurance also covers travel inconveniences such as curtailments, delays, luggage issues, and trip cancellations, with additional options available for sports and high-altitude activities.

To promote the launch, SeaMoney is offering a 25% discount on premiums. Additionally, groups traveling with five or more people can enjoy a 5% discount per insured individual.

The purchase process is streamlined through the Shopee app or website, where customers can select from various flexible payment methods, including installment plans of up to 12 months available through SPayLater.

Purchasing the insurance involves a five-step process on the Shopee platform: entering basic travel details such as destination, travel dates, and number of travelers; filling in personal details and selecting policy add-ons; providing additional details for group policies; confirming all travel information before checkout; and choosing a payment method to finalize the purchase.
