The nominees for the Malaysia Fintech Awards 2018 has finally been announced, as this is the first event at this scale that is recognising the achievements of the industry we’re really excited to see who the winners will be.
The organisers has also confirmed during their press conference that Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Najib will be present during the award night as the guest of honour which will be held on the 6th of March in KLCC. It is indeed encouraging to see the highest level of the government in Malaysia recognising and embracing fintech.

The award was first announced on the 16th October 2017 and was open to public voting from 17th October 2017 till 26th January 2018. During that period 89 nominations, 15,000 public votes were received for the 13 categories.
As Malaysia’s only dedicated news portal for fintech, we at Fintech News Malaysia are also proud to be part of the judging panel for the Malaysia Fintech Awards.
During the same press conference the organisers also announced that the Malaysian Fintech Expo will also be happening concurrently with the awards night. The expo will consist of a 2 days forum with 16 speakers, 8 pocket talks, meet and pitch sessions to connect startups to investors over 50 exhibitors.
The organisers estimated that the event will attract over 5,000 participants ranging from fintech entrepreneurs, bankers and the general public.
