Experts and officials from around the world will gather in Kuala Lumpur for the E-Invoicing Exchange Summit Asia Pacific, scheduled from 25 to 27 November 2024.
The summit will focus on the practicalities of implementing e-invoicing, exploring how it can streamline accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes.
Attendees will gain insights into the key challenges businesses face during e-invoicing adoption, along with strategies to overcome these challenges.
The event will also delve into how e-invoicing can drive business digitalisation and tax compliance across the Asia-Pacific region.
One of the key speakers, Anuar Fariz Fadzil, the newly appointed CEO of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), will provide updates on Malaysia’s e-invoicing initiatives.
These initiatives are aimed at enhancing digitalisation and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
In addition to local insights, international perspectives will be shared by experts like André Hoddevik, Secretary General of OpenPeppol, who will deliver a global update on Peppol, an important framework for international interoperability in e-invoicing.
Alex Baulf, Vice President of Global Indirect Tax & E-Invoicing at Avalara, will offer actionable strategies for mastering e-invoicing and overcoming common implementation hurdles.
Key topics will include the role of interoperable e-invoicing systems in driving digitalisation across the Asia-Pacific region and how mirror visibility in financial transactions can enhance indirect tax consolidation.
A session titled “Big Data vs Big Brother” will focus on balancing transparency and data privacy in the e-invoicing process.
The summit will also provide country-specific updates from regions such as Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, India, and Germany, highlighting how different countries are advancing with their e-invoicing frameworks.
The event will kick off with a hands-on workshop on 25 November, providing practical guidance on e-invoicing implementation.
