Datuk Manoj Kurup has been appointed Executive Director of Enforcement at the Securities Commission Malaysia, effective 8 April 2026.

He succeeds Budiman Lutfi Mohamed, who was appointed judicial commissioner of the High Court of Malaya on 1 April 2026.
Manoj began his legal career in 1990 and most recently served as Head of the Prosecution Division at the Attorney-General’s Chambers before retiring in 2024.
He also held other roles there, including Head of the Appeals Division.
He was part of the Malaysian prosecution team on the joint investigation into the Malaysia Airlines MH17 tragedy and also served as a board member of the Malaysian Highway Authority.
Manoj holds a Master of Laws in Prosecutions from the University of Wollongong, Australia, and a Bachelor of Laws from the Polytechnic of Wales, now known as the University of Glamorgan.
He is also a Barrister-at-Law of Gray’s Inn, London, and holds a Diploma in Mediation from the Asian International Arbitration Centre.

SC Chairman Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi said,
“Manoj brings with him deep legal expertise and leadership to the SC. His extensive experience will further strengthen our enforcement efforts as we continue to uphold market integrity and protect investors.
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Budiman for his dedicated services and contributions to the SC since July 2022.”
