The Securities Commission Malaysia’s investED programme has helped grow Malaysia’s capital market talent pool, with 65% of its Leadership trainees securing roles in the sector since its launch in 2023.
Out of 581 trainees, 65% have secured jobs in the capital market, while the remaining graduates have found roles in sectors such as banking, fintech, consulting and accounting.
Launched by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim in June 2023, investED is a collaboration between the SC, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Higher Education, industry players and Malaysian universities.
The programme has reached more than 190,000 university students and fresh graduates nationwide through career fairs and talks.
The investED Foundation programme has also enrolled 3,072 participants across three cohorts, exceeding its target of 2,400.
The foundation track gives participants introductory knowledge and baseline certification in the capital market.
Programme Links Classroom Training With Industry Placements
The leadership programme combines one month of classroom learning at the Asia School of Business with six-month placements at 50 capital market partner companies.
Selected graduates receive a RM2,000 allowance during formal training and a minimum monthly stipend of RM2,400 during their on-the-job placement.
The Cohort 3 graduation ceremony was held today and recognised 210 Leadership graduates and 513 Foundation graduates.
The event was attended by the Ministry of Higher Education’s Secretary-General Datuk Dr. Anesee Ibrahim and SC Chairman Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi.

Dato’ Mohammad Faiz said the programme supports the Capital Market Masterplan 2026-2030, which projects Malaysia’s capital market size to reach between RM5.8 trillion and RM6.3 trillion by 2030.
“investED is aligned with industry needs. It is a credible and effective capacity building platform, delivering tangible workforce outcomes for the Malaysian capital market.
By combining structured training with on-the-job exposure, it ensures that participants are ready for their roles and capable of contributing to the industry.’’

Dato’ Fad’l Mohamed, CEO of Bursa Malaysia and a member of the investED Steering Committee, said,
“A vibrant and evolving capital market requires a steady pipeline of talent, and programmes such as investED provide participants with early exposure and practical insights into the industry and its ecosystem.
Over the course of the programme, the cohort gained knowledge and skills that we hope will support their future growth and contribution to Malaysia’s capital market.”
