The Asia Fintech Alliance (AFA) has launched the inaugural Asia Fintech Alliance Awards.
The programme is designed to recognise fintech companies with proven scalability and the potential to expand across 16 regional economies.
Fintech Association of Malaysia (FAOM), as Malaysia’s AFA member, will nominate companies to compete for regional recognition. Each member organisation can nominate up to seven local businesses.
The awards programme follows an invitation-based model. AWS Taiwan is providing technology advisory support, and EY Taiwan is serving as an advisor.
A panel of venture capital investors and industry experts from across the region will evaluate the entries. The judges will assess business fundamentals, innovation capabilities, and international growth potential to identify companies capable of solving cross-border challenges.

“International investment institutions have been specially invited to participate in the final selection, offering winners the opportunity to expand into 16 national markets,”
said Jaclyn Tsai, Chairwoman of AFA and Honorary Chairperson of the
Taiwan Fintech Association (TFTA).
The alliance currently includes representatives from Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Mongolia, Nepal, India, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Uzbekistan.

“Through this platform, we are not only strengthening collaboration among member associations, but also helping outstanding companies gain greater international exposure, business opportunities, and pathways for cross-border expansion,”
said Wilson Beh, AFA Vice Chairperson and Advisor and Founding Member of FAOM.
The inaugural programme features five categories.
These include a grand prize for cross-border fintech unicorn potential, alongside specific awards for financial infrastructure, regulatory excellence, market expansion, and fastest growth.
